I’m in the Mood for Color

In the Mood for Color, was a really interesting class! We learned how color affects mood. Which ones are calming, which ones are happy, and everything in between. I have a friend going through a tough time, so she is getting a card using a very cheerful yellow!

I started with a top folding card and added Dotted Wide Washi Tape for a super simple background that won’t draw the eye away from the roses. Speaking of the roses, I used the Cartoon Roses Stamp and Die Bundle to stamp then cut out my flowers.

While I was stamping 3 roses, I went ahead and stamped 4. This is pretty simple using a stamp positioner, I use a Misti. I cut 2 pieces of white paper to the same size, then stamped in one corner, turned the paper around, and stamped again. It’s a nice trick if you are stamping more than one item. A quick pass through my Mini Blossom Die Cutter and there are 4 sets of roses!

And just like that - I have 4 roses!

I arranged 3 flowers and 3 leaves at the bottom left corner. Once I was happy with the arrangement, I used the stampers go-to, Glad Press and Seal. When you lay it over the arrangement, it holds the arrangement so you can flip it over and add adhesive. Once the adhesive is in place, flip it back over and lay it on the card. It’s such an easy process!

Now that everything is glued into place, I trimmed off anything hanging off the edge. That may sound strange, but it shows a sort of movement, instead of having them lined up like little soldiers.

I thought the car needed a bold greeting, and after a few false starts, I decided to use the Fancy Hello Die. I cut it from white and black cardstock and glued them with the stacking a little off, so it looked like a backward drop shadow. I was finally pleased with the greeting, so I walked away!

And it’s ready to send to my friend. I hope the yellow color cheers her up a little bit.

Take care and be kind!

Hugs,
