When Stamp Meets Die
Hi everyone! Apologies for being out of touch, I’m finishing up my AECP Level 2 final project, and I have to admit I’m a little nervous about it!
In the meantime, I thought I’d show you some other projects I’ve worked on.
I used the Flowering Cistus Stamp set for the grey flowers and the Flowering Cistus Layering Die set for the yellow flower, As soon as I saw there was a layering set that was similar to the stamp set, this card appeared in my head. I liked the idea of adding some texture with the layered flower while keeping the background one-dimensional. Here’s an idea of what I’m trying to describe.
I used 3 different colors of cardstock for the flowers and each layer is cut from a different color. All the layers are from the Summer Afternoon Gradient Cardstock set. To make the yellow flower really pop, I used the Rock Collection ink set for the stamped flowers.
I used one last trick to give the flat image more depth, I outlined some of the grey flowers with a light grey pencil. It’s an old trompe l'oeil trick, and it adds just a little extra something.
I added a greeting from the Floral Sprig stamp set and some black splatter, and DONE!
Clean and simple, (sort of) with just a bit of fuss!
Thank you so much for spending time with me today! I hope you enjoyed walking through my design process with me.
Until next time, take care and be kind
XO
