(Hopefully) Impressive Heat Embossing

For everyone who doesn’t know just what the heck embossing is and why it’s so magical, here are some photos of the process:

Honestly, for as long as I’ve been paper-crafting, this never ceases to delight me!

Now that you know the technique, Here’s how I created the card. I used the Trellis stencil and the Ink Blending Tool to cover the card front with embossing ink. I used Translucent Pearl Embossing Powder over the image and heated it. It gives a cool tone-on-tone look to the card, and a nice sparkle to brighten up the navy. cardstock

I covered some white cardstock strips with Painted Fantasy and Misty Meadows washi tape and used the Fantasy Florals die to cut the flowers and leaves. I loved how they turned out!

There’s a lot going on with the flowers, so I only used one. And to counter-point the fussiness, I thought I’d give it a little edge by using a die sentiment from the Essential Sentiment Strips die set.

I’m really happy it all came together so quickly, and the plan that I had in my head actually carried over to paper!

Thanks for stopping by! Until next time, take care and be kind!
