Color Your Day!

Hi! It’s been a minute since you heard from me, but I’ve had some creative time nevertheless!

I’m still working on my AECP Classes, so there will be some blog posts coming up. So stay tuned!

And remember to check my Instagram feed on Friday the 30th for a fun event with my AECP colleagues!

But now I’m going to Color Your Day!

This was a fun class where we learned how to add pops of color to our designs.

I’ve never been one to add a lot of color to the front of my cards, but I broke my rule with this one! I stamped my tulip and leaves from the Exotic Tulip stamp set using Red Cosmos and Green Fields ink, then using what I learned from the Beautiful Details class, I was brave enough to add details with the matching Artist Alcohol Markers.

Normally, I would stop there for a very clean and simple card. But I needed some extra color. I consulted my color wheel to choose a background color and decided a nice soft blue would make a good accent. So I reached for my favorite blue ink, Iceberg, and used that with the Narrow Brick Stencil to create a grounding color for my tulips and leaves.

I wanted a pretty greeting and used a set I’ve never used, Tall Foliage. I love the font used for the greetings in this set and thought it would go nicely with the look of the card.

Then I really went out of my comfort zone and added some pearl drops to finish off the design!

I hope you enjoyed this! It was a fun card to make and came together pretty quickly.

Stay tuned for more posts to come and don’t forget to check my Instagram page on Friday!

Until next time, take care and be kind

XO

Sue
