Irresistible Inking

I’m back with another card for the Altenew Educator Certification Program! I had this visualized in my head, I just had to recreate it with paper and ink (which is more difficult than you’d think).

I started by inking a square stamp block with Iceberg ink, spritzing it with a little water, and stamping it on the card panel in a diamond shape. I also decided to use the ink pad to rub across the edges of the panel, to set it off a little from the white card base. Then I set up to do the flowers.

The die cuts for the flowers and leaves I used are pretty small, and I wanted some color variation to them, so I ink blended - again!! I used 3 colors from the Cherry Blossom ink cube set for the flowers and 2 colors from the Green Fields ink cube set for the leaves. All that was left was the die cutting.

Here are all the die cut flower pieces, these are a little larger than they really are! They are “work with tweezers small”, and that’s exactly what I used to assemble them! I thought they looked a little “flat” and I wanted to give them some texture, so I gave them a light spritz of Iridescent Shimmer Spray. That gave them exactly what they needed!

I added a greeting from the Blossom Wreath stamp set in Cloudy Night ink from the Gentlemen’s Grey mini-cube set - it looked much softer than if I had stamped it in black. I need to give a pitch for the mini-cube ink sets, they are a great way to have a lot of colors without a big investment, and the colors are packaged to work beautifully with the layered stamps that Altenew is known for.

I arranged three flowers in an elongated triangle (triangles are appealing to the eye, so are odd numbers). And this time I didn’t stop, I embellished! It needed a little something, but something that would keep to the soft look of the card, so I went with Satin White sequins. Again I applied an odd number, and, again, in a triangular pattern, The two at the top, form a triangle with the the single rose, fancy, huh?

I know I say this every time, but I was SO happy with how this turned out! This one is going to be tough to part with!

I hope you enjoyed yet another card installment - I enjoyed sharing it!

Take care, and be kind!

Sue
